I am a licensed clinical psychologist and dedicated therapist in New Haven, CT, passionate about helping adults and adolescents overcome mental health challenges. I completed my doctoral training at the University of New Mexico, followed by clinical internship and post-doctoral training at Yale University. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, where I conduct research focused on developing smartphone apps to support relapse prevention for individuals with chronic conditions such as substance use and eating disorders. I have published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored a book on mindfulness-based therapy.
In my clinical practice, I use evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Rather than relying on one method, I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and preferences.
I have expertise in treating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, substance use, eating disorders (including binge eating, anorexia, bulimia, and disordered eating), and chronic pain. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and respectful. I believe therapy should not only reduce symptoms but also improve quality of life, foster meaning, and support long-term growth and well-being.
